Merchant must make reward available to all nonprofits using DonationRewards. Merchants do have the option to make their reward available to just your organization. That is acceptable, but does not qualify for the $10 payment. A merchant might consider offering a very special reward to just your organization, and another less valuable reward to all others -- that would qualify for the $10 payment. All reward offers must be approved by the DonationRewards staff before they are accepted. Not all rewards are accepted. The merchant must offer a substantial reward. For example, restaurants should offer "1 entrée free with purchase of another entrée", or "$10 off second entrée". A coupon for "10% off" will not be accepted. Other merchants should offer at least a 20% discount, or a meaningful dollar amount -- like "$10 off any purchase of $50 or more". Your organization will receive payment for the sign-ups when you begin accepting donations. DonationRewards holds back 7-10% of each donation made to your organization as a fee for its service. However, if DonationRewards "owes" you money for merchant sign-ups, no fee will be charged until that debt is paid in full.
